Scorpio New Moon 11-1-24

Choose Wisely

Scorpio is all about transformation. And transformation is not about simple shifts but profound change. Transformation is the kind of change that gets our attention. It takes our breath away. It stirs emotion. It is endings. Beginnings. Brick walls of reality. Transformative change is not just about small adjustments but rather deep, fundamental knowing that can alter one's life, identity, or perspective. Alchemically, it is a total state change. Lead to gold. Sand to pearl. Thus, it takes heat. Friction. Tension. The promise is immense potential. The challenge is embracing the intensity.

Because Scorpio journeys always take us into the heart of those unknown, often complicated, inner shadowy places where transformative change lives. Seeing through the veil of habitual, unconscious, or convenient truth into the REAL is a Scorpio superpower. In short, Scorpio takes us on a journey of what is.

It is fitting that this New Moon falls in the sign of Scorpio a day after Halloween. Halloween has its roots in the pagan celebration of Samhain, one of four major pagan holidays, symbolizing a time when the souls of the dead mingle with the souls of the living. It is a time when darkness is embraced, the unseen is celebrated, and the veil of reality expands.

To see in the darkness is a bold power, a trait that defines the wisest of souls. Scorpio, in its highest expression, wields this power with a rare and fierce grace—using the gift of truth sight to heal, connect, and lead others through deep, authentic transformation. It teaches us that the caves where our inner demons dwell are not places to be feared or condemned but to be explored with compassion and curiosity. In this way, we're reminded that shadow work is, in essence, light work. The journey into hidden places isn't a punishment or a burden but an invitation—a call to reclaim what's been lost or suppressed. When we dare to traverse the depths of our being, we unlock massive potential and healing. The high destiny of Scorpio offers real freedom—a freedom born of embracing our whole self. In this journey lies the path to profound transformation, where light and shadow converge, creating the alchemy of real, lasting change.

In the words of Joseph Campbell,

"The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek."

That is Scorpio.

Of course, when channeled through our wounded parts, the same Scorpionic force that has the power to perceive into darkness becomes cloudy and convenient, replacing the intensity of what is with the comfort of what we want it to be. Denial and cognitive dissonance thrive in unexplored Scorpio terrain. I don't say this with malice or shame, either. I get it. The vast majority of humans decide what they believe not on facts but on feelings. We are more apt to accept ideologies that offer quick solutions, the easy way, and the comfort of black and white. If there is someone or something to blame, it's all the better. In a world of algorithmic data farming, our psychology is easy to hijack. Add some real clout or authority to that message, and that same Scorpio force that sees into the darkness becomes the darkness, using power to condemn, coerce, divide, hate, and denigrate. Without integrity and high on its own supply, this deep perception can become a narcissistic weapon—manipulating, dominating, greedy, self-serving, and intentionally mind-controlling entire psyches, preying on vulnerabilities rather than fostering growth.

Because when we hijack another’s fear, it becomes easy to control them. This is the most destructive expression of Scorpio. As someone who has spent the last three years studying the psychological forces at play within high-control groups, religions, and coercive ideologies, past and present, I can tell you—once you see these destructive patterns at play, you can’t unsee it. It is everywhere, some more obvious than others, and some more destructive than others. And if you think you’re immune, you’re wrong. We are all susceptible. That’s why it’s crucial to know what to look for.

Which brings us to the US election occurring a few days after this New Moon.

Many of you have reached out to me regarding my predictions. I am not going to read either candidate's chart publicly. Indeed, both charts reveal a profound synchronicity and timing for this pivotal moment in history. For me, astrology is not about fortune telling what will happen but a road map to the most optimum path between two points: what we are meant to learn, how we are meant to grow, and what this time is asking of us.

If you have read my blog in the last few years, you are noticeably clear on the road we are meant to walk based on this time's astrology. In short, more empathy and less selfishness. More cooperation and less division. More service and less greed. More humility and less arrogance. More feminine genius and less toxic patriarchy. More complicated resiliency rather than binary comfort. Words like integrity, honesty, principle, and respect come to mind, as well as facts, data, science, and technical truths, a.k.a consequences. Those last three will become even more critical as we enter 2025.

What got us here cannot take us there. Radical change is required. We won't be able to ignore the life events that necessitate it.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree of Scorpio, A Fellowship Supper, represents this theme of community, connection, responsibility, and shared experience. It highlights the importance of coming together to share not only physical sustenance but also emotional and spiritual nourishment. This symbol suggests a gathering where individuals feel a sense of belonging, unity, and support, emphasizing the value of being in a collective that fosters togetherness, understanding, and resolution. It is about finding strength, purpose, and growth through social and communal bonds. More division will not work. Hard as it is, we are going to have to work together.

As you consider your vote, ask yourself which side echoes those themes. That is the direction in which we are meant to grow. We need to pick leaders that embody these productive forces.

Transformation is here—and we need it. The past few years have exposed deep divisions and revealed shadow layers we can no longer ignore. Rebuilding these fractured foundations will require intentional cooperation, genuine amends, and unwavering accountability. It calls us to lift the veils of mistruth and break through the spells of intentional coercion, diving deeply into the complexities of reality. This work isn't easy, especially when those spells are hard to see. But here's the thing about Scorpio: truth always prevails, no matter how we attempt to spin, deny, or distort it. It reveals itself in our actions, words, and the consequences of our intentions.

My hope is that we collectively take the shorter road—the one that asks us to choose humility over pride, complexity over conspiracy, facts over opinions, accountability over blame, honesty over lies, altruism over greed, and compassion over judgment.

Because with great power comes great responsibility. It is up to use to choose wisely.

“An authentic and genuine life grows like a sturdy tree. And like a tree, it grows slowly. Every time you make a different and better decision, it grows a little. Every time you choose to do the right thing, even when nobody would find out otherwise, it grows a little. Every time you act with compassion, relinquish your right to strike back, take a courageous stand, admit fault or accept responsibility, it grows a little.” ~Steve Goodier
